Located on a spit in the Lynnhaven River, just a half-mile from the Cheaspeake Bay, this house is designed to be the first LEED Platinum residence for environmental design in the region. There are only a handful of Platinum homes worldwide.

The home and guesthouse were developed to keep the buildings low and enveloped into the natural topography of the site. Floor to ceiling windows offer panoramic river views. Natural Virginia stonewalls are set into the landscape and support green roof terraces that cover the building's footprint.

These roofs, infiltrating drives and patios, rain gardens and courtyards provide 100% of the storm water treatment for the site, and allow the project to have a net- zero impact on the water quality of the Lynnhaven River and Chesapeake Bay.
