We work as collaborators in and out of the studio. Many of our projects are public, or with large user and client groups, and we have honed our skills in facilitating creative and productive design workshops and charrettes. Workshops in our studio operate the same way, with group design meetings across projects and disciplines often producing the most exciting and thoughtful ideas.
Much like our cross disciplinary approach to project knowledge, we typically move seamlessly back and forth in analog and digital methods of design. Utilizing hand drawing, scale models, as well as the latest in virtual modeling, simulation, and visualizations techniques. Simultaneously sketching, testing, and validating different options and design approaches allows us to find opportunities and the performance metrics to back them up.

We treat our technical drawings, quality control, and constructability the same way. Our quality and constructability reviews are held prior to every submittal and are coordinated across disciplines, including cost and schedule. Quality reviews are conducted by someone not on the project team so the review of a project’s documents for technical coordination is done with fresh eyes and objectivity.

Our people are not all the same, and everyone brings something different to the design table. We are diverse, and we pride ourselves on allowing fresh takes from different points of view on all our work. We emphasize an open exchange of ideas in the studio and with our clients. We seek a more collaborative and holistic approach and design process, emphasizing communication and consensus in all the things we make.
